Tips and Tricks on the 3rd Gen Tacoma

Does anyone know how to show your custom start up image longer? It shows for like literally 1-2 seconds. Can I have it show up right away instead of the Toyota one which stay for like 5 seconds

Not entirely, however...

Once the vehicle is up and running and you have selected your favourite tunes (audio source) go to Apps / Setup and then Screen Off (bottom of the screen.) In this way your favorite 'Screen Off' image will be displayed until such time you either press the Home button or any other button for that matter. Only thing is you can't have a picture of your dog and the navigation system at the same time.

Anyone know how to change the radio presets in the truck? The dealership had set like 6 in there and now I can't seem to figure out a way to change them. Been bugging me for weeks and I can't see to find any helpful info on TW. Thanks in advance!

 

Tune to your station of choice, then press and hold the station preset and it will change after 3-5 seconds.

But that doesn't erase the stations that the dealership programmed it just adds another

 

You may have your system set for a larger number of presets. It goes up to like 36 maybe? Go to your radio settings and change the number to the smallest available.

 

Go push the button of the dealer programmed station. Hold for a few seconds and it will beep. You can then use the knob to set the correct one.

 

Yes, you want to "overrite" the ones by the dealer....!!

Once a station is set, that slot is used up no matter what. You can change it sure. Only way to remove them completely is by requesting the Dealership to factory reset your head unti.

 

Does anyone know if there is a way to get GPS on your display? I have an SR5 not a TRD. I have the Scout GPS app but it is terrible.

 

I have a SR5 also and Im pretty sure Scout is the only thing available. I hate it too for the record.

 

@AAChaoshand i got the Carista OBD2 and the pro subscription to find out I cannot disable the door chime..?

 

Might need to get with someone that has one still, I no longer have mine.

How the hell do I get rid of the preset radio stations on the left side of the audio screen? I can't scroll through the XM stations on the steering controls as I'm listening because if I do it kicks back to the damn radio. So annoying
