I live in a great neighborhood and city. Its when I have to cross the river to go to Portland when I should carry it. They are averaging 3 shootings a day there as of this year. Already something like 15 killed. And its barely into March.

I started my truck using remote services. It worked! But...as soon as I entered the truck, the engine turned off. Should I open the doors using the remote instead in order for the engine to stay running?

Remote low battery will cause a one-click sound after pressing the push button start. Replace the fob battery and wholla? Note: there are a few items which also cause this: low vehicle battery, bad starter or selenoid.

hey! I'm going to need to adjust. My new AC sport has a conventional key ignotion.
The other day, I shut off the rig, threw the key in the shift boot like I always do.
Exited the truck. Only to realize the doors were locked behind me..WITH THE KEY INSIDE!!

Fortunately, this happened at home and the second key with remote was in the key drawer.

I suppose if I were not "home", I would take the key with me. But ... I need to rethink how I handle the key ... Buttons are sure to be my demise!

am Pro grille w/lights, black tailgate letters, black badging, 265-70-17 Duratrac "c", Rear seat platform,
After opening the door I often reach in to push the brake and restart it. It will stay running that way for a while even if you take the remote with you. Usually only necessary in the cold Michigan winter.

Glad the Toyota App tells you what the Smart Key Battery Status is. I normally don't carry a spare battery for the key fob.

No matter what neighborhood you live in, bad guys can show up anytime (no matter if they have guns or not). Better be prepared or you're screwed. You can have a gun in the vehicle for protection as long as the law in your state allows.
