I just keep my door closed when i turn off the car. The dash will than show me my MPG for that drive, drive time, etc, which i think is pretty nifty.

true..but it gets annoying whenever I'm trying to put my 3 year old in his car seat. I live in Hawaii, so I have the car running so the air conditioning can get cold by the time we're ready to go.

Adding unnecessary questions to a thread is more fun. jk. I didn't like the answers I found, so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone found a cheaper alternative.

To do it by the screen Tap the Home/App button to get to your Nav screen. With the Nav screen up click the DEST (destination) button from there click the DEL DEST in the upper right hand part of the screen then click yes to "Deleting Destination". Which is a stupid word choice from Toyota... all it does it remove the current route from the screen. Definitely easier in my eyes to click the Talk Button on the steering wheel and say "Cancel Route"

Haha no problem I did the same! Then I would try to go to another destination and it would ask if I wanted to add it to the beginning or end of the route. Quite frustrating! It was my rash angry response to yell at the truck that saved the day lol! But I found out that the hands free button can pretty much do everything I ask it. Which makes sense because toyota has been ranked at it near the top for their infotainment systems for the past few years. I'm just not used to talking to the truck.

I tried going through the Navi screen and only saw "Delete Destination". As the destination was my home address that I had as the only destination in the system, I took it as litrally deleting the destination I just loaded into the Nvai.

Agree with the other post above - "Delete Destination' is a really poor choice of words.

Then again, it was probably translated from Japanese...

To add, for anyone trying to figure out how to pause it when stopping for gas, etc.-
On the big Nav screen, press "Options" in the upper left, which brings up a large menu. Second from the bottom is "Pause Route Guidance". Discovered that one on my 14 hour drive back from the dealership bringing my new truck home.

Do you need to know, or care?
That is a really good idea. The "Recalculating" drives me crazy when pulling off the freeway for gas.

Until I get to the dealership, all I do is push in the door open sensor (rubber button) by the VIN plate/tire decals on the door jam.. Just push in and release and it deactivates the door chime. A PIA every time but better than the annoying beeping
