I agree but wish the alarm was tied together with the turn signal and the BSM like our car is.

My LG smart phone fits perfectly upright in the small square, behind the shifter and next to the center cup holder, and amplifies the phone's sound.
Perfect for playing music on your phone and being able to see it, or for using speaker phone without the truck's bluetooth.
    Just saying.

Still waiting on my 3rd Gen but the BSM doesn't have an audio alert when you put your blinker on to change lanes if it detects another vehicle? My wifes truck like most other manufacturers has the audio which makes logical sense and am surprised Toyota omitted an audio feature tied to it. I guess I can put this in the same lame category of Toyota almost got it right with the no keyless touch feature for the passenger side door handle.

How many people want that annoying beep turned off?
I know I would. I'm glad my Tacoma doesn't have that feature.

If it was there I would have turned that off right from the dealer driveway. Don't need to hear another chick telling me that I'm next to something when I can look over my shoulder like I learned 30 years ago.

So far, I've just changed the lane change from 3 to 5. It worked. It seems most of the stuff it can do can already be done in the truck settings (door unlock, lights, remote lock/unlock beep volume, etc.). The only unique things I saw on a quick perusal were the turn signal and seat belt warning, but there may be more. Those 2 alone may make it worth the $20 admission. If you pull the trigger, also spend $5 for Torque Pro http://torque-bhp.com/ in Google Play or iStore.

Thanks. I just junked my 04 colorado and already had torque and a bluetooth dongle. Seems like buying a 16 Tacoma has the added bonus of carista functionality

Picked up my '16 about a week ago and loving it. Found some helpful info here and thought I'd share one I recently came across. Did you know you can customize the multi-information display on the dash using the button/control on the right of the steering wheel?

I created a quick little video that shows how to navigate through the options. It's also on page 93/94 of the manual.

    Dumb Qs,
This might have been asked already:
Is there a break in period / mileage for the V6 I have had my MGM for week now and have put 378 miles on so far .
mostly highway with small amounts of city street .
    just a need to know

I've never followed a break in period on cars or motorcycles and the results have been long running engines with more power, no burning oil and no leaks. This could start a HUUUGE discussion that I won't participate in :D but do some research for yourself and see what you think. There's a large contingent of people out there who have been bucking the norm with surprising results.

Noticed I am out of window washer fluid yet I had no light indicating it like my 2nd gen Tundra. Do we have it on the Tacoma and I'm just over looking it?
