I found that the SOUND setting (bass, mid, treble, etc) are source specific. So each source has it's own settings. If you, like me, maxed them all out for Radio and noticed Pandora is pretty lame sounding then check the Pandora SOUND and make adjustments. Repeat for other Audio sources as well.

    Hardcore off road floor mats!
Has anyone been able to put a custom image on their SR display screen for a 3rd gen? or third gen in general?

For some reason that day mode button won't show up on mine. Was there anything specific you had to do for it to show up?

With respect to the SR5, Entune system:
Yes, if you mean "startup" or "screen off" images.
No, if you mean "background image"

Any custom startup image shows only for a few seconds.
The "Screen off" image stays visible as long as the screen is ... err ... OFF, but the audio system is ON.

    To add custom images:
    1) make one or two folders (depending on which images you want) on an otherwise empty flash drive, using EXACTLY these folder names:
    DisplayOffImage
    StartupImage

    2) Put up to three JPGs of custom images in each folder.

    3) Insert the flash drive in the USB port of the truck
    4) Turn ON ignition
    5) Select SETUP > GENERAL
    6) Scroll down to the "customize startup [or, display off] image" section (I forgot the exact name)
    7) Tap TRANSFER
    8) Follow the displayed instructions

Nope, I just turned on the headlights and it pops up after being in the setup. My truck is a SR5 4x4. Don't know if it's different with other models.

Thanks, AAChaoshand, for starting such a useful thread.

For your "known issues" list, let me make this suggestion:

For owners who got the stock wheel locks as an accessory, they should know how poorly designed and faulty the "key" for the spare tire winch can be. The square end of one of the black shafts does not fit very snugly into the key, and can rotate within it if the winch is tight. This can strand you without access to your spare tire! (Happened to me, and I was lucky to have lots of tools along to kluge a solution.)

I wrote to Toyota USA about it, and got a rather disrespectful dismissal of my concern. It seems to be a safety issue, if someone with a flat cannot get to their spare, stranding them unnecessarily or tempting them to drive on the rim, but Toyota didn't take it seriously. A simple fix they could do would be making available a key with a better design, such as a male square end to fit the female end of the black shaft. It's a vendor who supplies the wheels locks kit, and a demand for a fix could easily be pushed to them.

Meanwhile, a preventative fix any owner can make is to drill two through-holes, through the key and shaft together, for cotter pins. Then pack ample cotter pins in the bag along with the key and shafts and jack handle. If ever you get a flat in the backcountry, you'll be glad you did this in advance.

I'll also post this as a separate thread.

#14 I just got my truck and it only came with the 2 key fobs. They both open the tail gate. Where do I find the extra key.

It looks like you got the SR5, correct? If so, your ignition key is the tailgate key. The trucks with push button start have a separate tailgate key.

That makes no sense, key fob is remote that only works on doors.

Yes, the push button start models(TRD and Limited) have a key stored in the fob, but it is a backup for the door. There will be a separate key for the tailgate. I know this because I had to inform my dealer of this when they got the first one on the lot. It was a sport and he was taking the regular key off the ring saying this doesn´t belong on here. I said hold on a minute, I do believe it does. After I showed him what it was for, he was a little embarrassed, but now he knows.

Ok guys, need some assistance as I can't figure this out. Downloaded the Entune app to my phone and truck yesterday, all was working great. Now, this morning my Pandora app on my phone just shows loading all day and entune will not play Pandora. I have tried to update the Pandora app several times but it won't update.

Also, my text messages will not read out loud, I can just ignore them now. Don't know what the heck happened over-night in the garage. :frusty:

    Any suggestions fellas?

    thanks much

Ahh good question. What are our trucks doing in our garages when we are not watching?! I would suggest deleting the pandora app then reinstall it.
