Hood Ajar. I was sitting in my truck with the hood up just admiring things after checking my oil and saw "hood ajar" on my center console display. No key fob on me just sitting in the front seat with the drivers side door open. I closed the hood and the "door ajar" screen came up. First time I saw that on any vehicle I've owned and now I have to find where the switch is.

I just thought it was a cool feature I've never seen posted here.

Is there a way to get rid of some of the sources that I don't use and have them blanked out. I barely use any of them and if I accidentally hit the source button on the steering wheel I have to go through like 10 different sources before I can get back to the one I was on. I would love to get rid of AM and Slacker and iHeart Radio and some of the other sources that I don't use. Any help would be tiiiight.

That I know of they are always there. I've organized my applications on the touch screen when cycling through the various ones but other than that, I don't think you can pull them off completely, it's part of the actual program running on the Entune System.

Anyone who believes that should remove the rear-view mirror, since it would be equally "distracting", maybe more. Silly. Just silly.

Anyone actually use the 2 clips towards the interior back ceiling of the crew cab for any useful purpose?

Everyone probably knows this, but I didnt, so if ive missed it, sorry ahead of time for wasting space (and more so for exposing so prominately my low IQ).
I really like the parking brake control on the console. It makes smooth uphill starts when someone crowds me at the stop with my manual transmission, and feels even better when I'm launching a boat with the lake right behind me.
However, today I discovered the brake automaticaslly holds the hill for 3 seconds after you take your foot off the brake, and/or releases upon letting the clutch out. Now, how handy is that!? Maybe I can get my wife to try driving it - or maybe I won't mention it.

Yep, autos and manuals have hill start assist. Normally I hate that crap and turn it off when I had a Challenger SRT8 and a Corvette but in an automatic truck, I don't mind it.

getting to be a popular "common" feature in trucks. note: GMC only offers it in their off road/all terrain package Canyon

Ah ha! I traded my MT 2010 GMC Canyon for the Tacoma. I got the utility because all I needed was ac, 4wd and a stick, but I'm still finding "options." BTW, I'm getting better mileage than the Canyon, and it was 2wd. What a truck the Tocama turned out to be.

I found it! Page 265, in its entirety: "Hill start assist control (if equipped) Helps to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards when starting on an incline or slippery slope." If its on my delete model, they've all gotta be equipped. I need to come out of my cave now and again, and this thread is helping.

...^^^... I see a lot of "utility models" here. They are SR's, AC/LB, 4 cylinder, autos or manual .... no rear seats, belts & etc and list price is about $1,750.00 cheaper .... usually in white or silver.

Dealers hold on to them here and they are hard to buy.

It's a utility. The sticker shows it's an SR 4wd with the Delete option, exactly as SOS said. I guess the dealer was afraid of the stick, as I got it for cheap, that or he really wanted my 2010 work truck Canyon.... Anyway, I havent been this happy about a purchase in a long time. I was estatic when adding cruise was 40 bucks, thanks to TW posts.
