Probably referring to the ridged part on top of the handle.

Yes the ridges. I just got the truck last week, haven't even got the chance to dig the book out and look through it yet. Thanks though, that page certainly helps!

No worries. My funcar has a similar system, unlocking with a touch to the inside of the handle and ridges on the outside to lock.

Only complaint is Toyota chose the opposite end of the handle for the lock ridges. Have to think about it now since it's different depending on which I'm driving that day.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Interesting... Never really thought about it. It works with my gloves. But they are the ones that also work with touch screens.

Well there you go then; a lot of gloves these days have a conductive fabric so they'll work with phone capacitive touch screens.

BTW, it gets fun when you have you key in your pocket and you're washing the thing... :D

That explains it. I was hitting the button to unlock it, which caused the 3 second delay in being able to unlock the door, so when i was pulling the handle nothing was happening.

Pro-tip, you can buy conductive thread and make any gloves work. I did this with my bike gloves so I could use my phone. Just stitch a small section on whatever finger tip of the glove. I can't say if it will work for the doors, but it definitely works with phone screens.

My truck unlocks with normal "store bought" gloves.... My big Indian Moose Hide Mittons don't work though.... I think B E Cuz they are like 2" thick...hehe

Any way to change the smart key sensor system to unlock all 4 doors instead of just driver's door?

Yes. I know I did it but I think it's one of the few things that the dealer has to do. I just had them do it while in for routine service.

It only takes a minute or two in the main settings of the head unit

Configurable through the screen. Don't need to go to dealer

Thank you. I couldn't recall if I did it or not. I did have them shut off that damn honk every time I lock/unlock tho!

That is in the manual but I added it to the list anyways since it's not something easily found.

I have the hard tri-fold cover from the factory and get some water inside. Page 44 of the manual states it is not waterproof. A flat foam seal under the cover helped, but water still gets in at the end of the hinge areas and tailgate section. I will try and seal these areas. I may just sell it and go with a Leer cap. Not impressed with the Toyota cover.

Hey guys wanted to know if anyone else is missing a wheel lock key in their glove compartment, I was finally cleaning it today 2 months after getting the truck and realized I have the bag and inside is an order form and price sheet for the wheel lock and lock key? My family has all Toyotas and all the other cars come standard with the wheel key in the glove compartment.

de-badged, tint front windows, led interior lights, door sill protectors, led b/up lights, 5" factory step rails, yellow turn signal bulbs, added 4 D ring tie downs. Took off the black vinyl stripes between the doors. Changed the grill - from Custom Car Grills, Finally got a tonneau cover put on. 31" light bar ( white & amber ), tailgate light bar, sunvisor covers ( to hide warning labels ), new bedside decals - still too cold to put them on tho. Flag decals to go on too, again too cold still. Got a 2 switch, switch plate to replace that useless cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.. still to be installed ( hopefully this weekend ). Upgraded the tires to G/Y Duratracs... loving them, no plowing the driveway !!
I had the dealer take mine off.

Do you have the wheel locking nuts...1 on each wheel..?? If so, you better go find the key..!! If not, don't sweat it. They are a PITA..
