Need to change out alternator on 2017 Sr5 v6 with a tow package (130a alternator). Just looking at it I think I can get to all the bolts I need to, except for the one stuffed way in the back. Anyone ever do it? Any tips on getting to that back bolt on the bottom, inward side of the alternator? Looks like some people take the drivers side wheel off and access it through the wheel well.

It's hard, I can tell you that there's a lot of 2GR's out there without that bolt reattached. I have thought about it but havent done it personally, but I know of techs that will just rely on the 2 front bolts.

I use a 12mm 1/4" deep socket with a small extension. I use a paper towel rammed between the socket and bolt then fish it in with my fingers. But its hard.

Somewhat similar on my older 4.0 4Runner, I took out the battery and unfastened the wiring harness to open up the area there to work.

Holds the bolt in the socket tightly so it doesn't fall out.
