Hoping anyone can provide some tips for me. I am relocating to Orlando, FL real soon and want to tow a trailer with all my belongings. Moving 2 bedrooms, living room couch/chairs, kitchen table/chairs. The total items should be under the 6500lbs. I have a 2013 dbl cab, short bed, 4x4. Moving thru relatively flat terrain from S. Illinois to Orlando, FL.

I am sure the Tacome can handle this no problem, but I have never towed across long distances, only city limits. Is this a problem? What should I check on? Do I need a weight distributing system, or transmission cooler? Towing approximately 980 miles but will be stopping overnight along way, about a 2 day trip, in no hurry. Any information will be appreciated. I know the uhaul guys discriminate against Tacoma as if they can't pull crap for a trailer.

    Thanks!

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
    transmission cooler-yes

6500lbs-really at the edge for towing safely

    weight distribution hitch setup-yes

electric brake setup so you can use the trailers braking system activated by truck brakes when applied-yes...

depending on height and width of trailer, mirror extensions....

I am sure others will chime in with more suggestions...

Thanks. Weight should be well under 6500lbs. Not moving too much to be that heavy.

Should I get the weight distribution system AND the TRAILER SWAY KIT both? Or, do just need the WDS????
