    Hello,

    I’m new to the site. Tried to find tires. I used the search bar.

    I have a 2020 off-road Tacoma. Daily driver, camping, fishing, mountain roads, light offroading.

    took her fishing last week. Offroad trail to the lake it got up after a few tries. I’ll be doing more of these trails.

    I’ve decided on a 2 inch oem lift. But as far as tires all these posts and Dynamics are making my head spin. I don’t want to make the truck uncomfortable to drive or get huge tires. I plan on getting trd pro rims. What’s the best option here for the truck? Best wheel size and tire size. I plan on getting trd pro rims. Should I get 17s or stick with 16s and what size tire will fit the needs of a daily vehicle/light to possibly moderate offroading.

    Thanks in advance

    With 17” rim you will get a lot more tire choices and a lot more C and SL load options. Also tire will be a bit lighter in 17” vs 16”.

    I went with 255/80/17 E load wildpeaks and absolutely love the look and functionality. It’s a true 33” that fits with zero modifications. Had 265/70/17 c load KO2s, were awesome tires too but I needed a bit bigger tire and E load.

    wow this truck looks sick! I like the tires too. 33s look good. Do they still drive good on the road. Also load. I’m assuming the higher the letter is for heavier the load carried? Thanks

    Thank you sir!

    Believe it or not, they have amazing road manners. Silent on highway, smooth as glass at any speed. I’m lifted 2” by the way.

    SL=4 ply rated
    C= 6
    D=8
    E=10

    I needed E rated, even though most of the time it’s overkill for Tacoma.
    I do air down to about 15 psi and drive on rocky terrain, so 10 ply rated was the way to go for me. C load is great
    Compromise if you need extra protection off-road.

    Awesome. Looks great. That’s what I’m gonna go with. 33s. Thanks for all the help. I think cs would be fine for what I’m bringing.

    You are welcome.

    Unfortunately no C load in 255 width. My wildpeaks are only 52 pounds, which is not bad at all for 33”. My 31” C load KO2s were 46.

    I just put 285/75R16 on a 16x8 0 offset wheel. A lot of rub on the mud flaps, but after I moved the caster forward, no more rub. With a 16” rim you can get more sidewall (better for off-road), but like previously mentioned…way more options with 17” rim.

    No cab mount chop…I only pushed the caster forward and it doesn’t rub so no need for the cmc.

    Welcome!! :thumbsup:

    Tires & alignment are a great upgrade. The KO3s 285s are C rated. Don’t think nittos make C rated 285s anymore. I am 265/70/17 wildpeaks SL & am very happy. I’ll go 285s after these, but atm this is better for semi daily & my wife.

    Check out Discount Tire Direct. They use a tread warranty & ship straight to your house. I got a flat 1 week after install & discount tire patched it for free based on my tread. They have flash sales (on random weekends) & typically have $110 off select brands. It’s a great deal & that’s where I got my tires!!

    Very nice! So even at full articulation off-road?

    I was thinking of doing CMC and 285s but A/T E loads start at like 60 pounds… and I really don’t like the idea of chopping up my truck. I’m really enjoying those 52 pound wildpeaks, can still get very good MPGs when driving conservatively.

    I haven’t had a chance to get it off-road…did take it down some forest service roads and some private roads in the mountains (minor ruts and water run-off in road) and did not have any issue. I have a mid-travel suspension too.
