if i was to order a set of wheels and tires, do i need to have them come with a tpms sensors installed? Or can the ones on my truck be used on the new tires?

Another question... I havent driven in 8 years before buying this truck, never had tires with tpms... So if you get a flat and have to change the tire do you have to remove some sensor to put the spare on?

I should probably take a tire off and put it back on just for the hell of it (learning experience)

    I want this set.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/17x9-Black-...ash=item5429527011:g:TvoAAOSwKtlWm5tL&vxp=mtr

Just need to look into a way to black out the logo on it. Like the style... Not much a fan of big company logos though.

Will this set work on my stock suspension SR truck?

    Thanks for the help!

You can use the same sensors. And no you don't have to remove the sensor on to the spare if you get a flat. I have not checked but the spare might come with its own sensor. Nice looking wheels.

Thanks man, that's good news as they wanted like 40 each sensor!

Will that tire and wheel setup fit okay?

    1. They should fit. The tires are no an issue, but verify with them on the backspace/offset.
    2. There is no TPMS sensor in the spare. You however don't have the correct sensors for alloy wheels if your SR has steel wheels. The correct process would be procuring PMV-C015 alloy wheel sensors so they fit/install properly instead of having to install the TPMS sensors where they can be damaged during the install/removal of the tires themselves.
    3. There is no difference in changing a TPMS vs. non-TPMS wheel. The sensor is installed internally as part of the valve stem assembly.
    4. if you want to black out the logo - find some touchup paint which closely matches the finish on the wheels and carefully paint over it.

Not sure about the backspacing or offset, what do I need to ask?

I do have the steel wheels.

I guess that means I'm back to needing to get them with sensors installed. I want it done right. If the ones I have now might cause issues I'd rather avoid that.

    Thanks for the info fellas.

FYI.. regarding TPMS sesnsors....i have had a mess with my new wheels and TPMS sensors. 16" Moto Metals from Big O Tires installed. The stock sensors absolutely did not convert to after market wheels. New sensors had to be purchased and Big O said they did not have updated computer
to reactivate the sensors for 2016's yet so just take it to Toyota and they can in a few minutes download the new codes to the truck. Toyota wanted $200 to do the activation but after 2 hours could not get new sensors to download to Truck. Still not fixed. Still have light on dash for air pressure!! Just my situation ya know but???

If I move the wheels and tires from my '14 DCSB OR to a '16 DCSB OR will the sensors work? From the thread Rising Eagle posted up, it looks like I will at least need it reprogrammed to recognize the sensors in my current wheels.
