I do not usually shine my tires but they are getting that brown tint from brake dust.
For those of you with meaty tires....what are you using for a tire applicator pad?

Brown tint is not just brake dust, its dust and dirt in general. Wash and scrub your tires. They will turn black again.

I use a stiff bristled brush with degreaser on my tires and wheels, that usually takes care of any discoloration.

Occasionally, if I put tire shine on, I use a tire shine brush (not a cloth or pad) and spray the brush, not the tires.

The one I have is sold by many generic brands, tan handle and green soft bristles.

To get the gunk off, car soap and a brush will do the trick. To apply dressing, I have been using a microfiber sponge. They are pretty cheap on Amazon and hold onto the tire dressing so you don't have to add as much in future applications.
