Hey all - looking for some suggestions for tire carriers - proably NOT bumper since i just ordered the new aluminum rear from all-pro - needs to fit a 33-35" tire, I WOULD be okay with something that mounted to the SIDE of the bed ,but not like a baja rack that consumes the whole bed. I have also thought about maybe a trailer hitch type spare carrier, but with the bumper I just bought that'd require the license plate be removed.

What are you guys using to carry spares with your tires bigger than 31"? (max stock size)

    This is what I have.

It's nice because you can still throw some stuff under it and it doesn't black the view while driving.

Bed space was more important to me than seeing out the rear so I had my rack made higher....SOS Concepts built it.

I have a cap on my bed, but my 35 is ratchet strapped upright to the rail cleats. One on the front rail and one on the passenger side rail. It works, but I am saving up for a swingout high clearance rear bumper.

You could, if you don't need to drop the tailgate, just get a receiver mount tire carrier like you suggested and then mount the license plate onto the spare like you sometimes see on the H2/H3

I don't know how you want to modify your rig but if you're okay with changing out the stock tailgate I know that Wilco Off-road makes tire carrier "tiregate"s. I have the prerunner style tiregate and I love it. It carries my 285 duratrac no problem and I can flip the gate to face outwards if I need more bed space

I still need use of the bed. Seems the swing out is the only option?

This was a custom built tire carrier by AVID at the time. I think he just rolled these out into production this year.

I got it from Wilco Off-road out in Orange County (Santa Ana). I don't really remember what I paid, I think it was like $700ish but that was awhile back and I lived close so I just dropped by and picked it up. If you look up "TireGate" or Wilco Off-road you should find their site.

I have the N-fab carrier in the bed. I can take it out if I need bed storage for around town stuff, and it still leaves plenty of usable space in the bed.

You should be able to fit a 33x12.50 under the bed of the truck. Also tire gate makes a verticle and a pre runner style tire carrier.
