I am looking at getting Thule XG12Pro tire chains for this winter. I was curious what others were using. This will be the first set of chains I have owned as they were deemed contraband in my home state.

I am getting a set for the rear only. Came across thread on how Taco's do not have enough clearance for chains on the front tires?

Why not get snow tires. More expensive but worth it

I had considered, but I will only be using the chains maybe 3-4 times per year. Ideally, I would get a set of dedicated winter tires, but for how frequently they would get used, I think the chains are more practical.

So are you planning to use the chains on your daily drive to/from work just when it's snowing though?

I only plan to use them a few times a year when I head into the cascades to recreate or need to get through the passes
