jup I hear ya, mine gets 23.4mpg with the dunflops, when winter gas comes I get 22mpg at best, so putting a heavier tire would bring both down, ive made up my mind to get the x radial lt2 in p245/75/16 when the time comes at 35 pounds per tire shouldn't be a great mpg hit, but the benefits of having the Michelins out weigh a few tenths of a gallon loss, im playing the middle ground with the 4 ylinder engine

Dry weather, I drive about 75-80mph on the highway in a 70mph zone on my daily commute to work. The rest is all 65mph and under to the house and office. About 10 miles total are interstate, 1.5 are slower speed.
Mind you, I won't be driving nearly as fast with snow or ice and I slow a little during rain. I predict absolute terrible mileage using 4x4 to get to work, no matter the tire. Yes, I will keep my speed no faster than the recommended 60-70mph while using 4x4 high

I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for deals the next couple months. If this winter is anything like it was last year, might be a little tough going until I can get a new set. Hope the snow, slush, and ice holds til at least February.
