In the market for 255/85r16 tires, but feeling a bit of sticker shock since last time shopping for tires.

In the last 2 years the cost of the tire size has gone up almost $100 per tire on the St Maxx. Yesterday I found Toyo MT for 230, today they are 260.

Perhaps it is just our current market, but looking for deals. If needed I can safely wait.

Check out Tireagent.com, I've seen pretty solid prices from them before. Also offer bi weekly billing options if you can't do it all up front!

Not sure if this is a good deal, and it has expired, but Walmart had Falken Wildpeak AT3W for $128/tire and Discount Tire had $80 off a set of 4 for those tires last weekend. I was able to price match plus get the $80 off. $128*4 - $80 + $21*4 installation fee = $516 + tax before any warranties. Since I am used to buying tires from Costco, and Costco didn't offer these tires, I thought it was a decent deal since I needed tires.

I ended up going with Don at Discount Tire Direct through the forum. He helped me out in the past with a price match and was happy to do another price match with a current online deal. Shipping was extremely fast and I followed up with Don yesterday and happy with Discount Tire.

Walmart fed me some line of BS once when I was in the T&L dept., they won't install tires sized over stock until the vehicle is at least 15 years old, iirc.

I got my tires at Discount Tire, price matching to Walmart's price. 265/70r17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W are $128 on Walmart.com and I was able to get $80 promotion stacked on top of the price match at Discount Tire. Hope that wasn't confusing.

That is a great deal, I should have asked, but happy they did a price match to begin with so can't complain.

As I picked up the old 4runner with 31x10.5R15

Now the old 4runner has 255/85R16s. Discount Tire was a big help getting tires out in about 3 days.
