I apoligize if this topic has been beaten to death but I was unable to locate someone with the same issue.

I have a 2013 4x4 tacoma sport longbed. I put a Skyjacker 3" inch lift on it. The kit came with front struts, rear springs and shocks. I also put new wheels with 285/70/17 tires.

After the kit was installed the front tires while turning will grab. It only happens in a 30-35 mph left or right hand turn. I know alot of people have the VSC and ABS issue, however Im not sure this is true for me. While in the turn it feels like the front outside tire sqwishes to the point that it stops riding on the tread and instead on the sidewall tread(i have the fun country A/T that have sidewall tread). It feels almost like catching an edge on a snowboard or skateboard ( thats the only way i can describe it).

I took it back to the shop where they were certain it needed to be realigned and calibrate the VSC sensor. After the realignment and sensor calibration it continued to happen. I took it back to them two other times and it continues to happen. At this point I am considering taking the lift off and putting it back to stock as it is completely unsafe to drive. I am not 100% sure its not the VSC however no lights or beeping occurred each time it happens. Also it doesnt happen in every corner, it is completely unpredictable.

Again sorry if this topc has been beaten to death but Im very curious if anyone has had a similar problem that wasnt associated to the VSC/ABS.

I'm taking it to a Toyota dealer tommorow to see what thaey say.

    Thanks in advance...

When you say grab, do you mean rub? With 285s you usually have to do some fender trimming and a cab mount chop.

You need to get a front end alignment anytime you change the ride height with IFS...

OP says it was aligned but we KNOW theres a lot of shops out there that really jack up our trucks when failing to get within specs

Tires are not rubbing. I have micky thompson classic iii wheels with 4.5" backspacing which allow for tire clearence. I'm currently running the tires at 38 psi. I've had the front end aligned multiple times. What is IFS??

Well, let's put it like this, you can find 4wheelparts stores across the nation, problem is many of them have bad reviews in regards to their install departments. (poor workmanship, damaging vehicles, basically not knowing what the fuck they're doing)

Now , is your shop one of those ?? I don't know, but it does raise the level of scrutiny towards them..

Well.... thankfully my lift is a pretty straight foward install. Rear springs and shocks and front struts. I would have done it myself but i dont have a strut press.

Would you recomend having Toyota look at the alignment and sensor adjustment? If not, who?? Do you think what I'm experiencing is related to alignment and VSC sensor?? The truck rides smooth and steady on the road.

3 inch lift without aftermarket UCA's? Likely your problem right there. Whoever did your alignment failed to mention that your truck is out of spec.

Unless I misread your tires are chirping (grabbing) when you corner, that screams of alignment issues but there ARE other things like sensors (as you said) to consider, I don't know enough about said sensors & how they interact to form an opinion on them & have no info on any shops around you to recommend...

As mention above, could be a UCA issue,2nd gen right ? I think you can still get within spec. with 3" on 1st gens (mine aligned ok with 3")

I heard UCA's were a possible need with a 3" lift, 4wheelparts convinced me otherwise.... I'm calling them tomorrow... If they didnt tell me my alignment was not within spec and they knew i had this problem that almost jerked me and my family into a head on collision and didnt recommend a easy possible solution im gunna flip!
