Before you say, 'search for it'.... I did. On here and google.
Question being: I have H/T tires currently. (265 70 17) If i were to go to an A/T tire, which obviously has deeper and thicker tread, will the cicumference of the tire be larger?
I would imagine it would but i cannot find evidence to confirm.
I would like a more aggressive tread without sacrificing MPG too terribly; that's why a A/T tire in the same size is what i am heavily considering.
    Thanks.

There is no "carved in stone" exact answer to that question. There are industry standards with tire sizes, but they vary slightly from brand to brand and tire model to tire model. It would be easier to give a definitive answer if we had (A) the brand/size/model of tire you're removing, and the brand/size/model of tire you're contemplating putting on. THEN you could more accurately research the inflated diameter of each.

As a "for instance", a while back, I was researching diameters of several brands of 285/75/r16 mud tires. I found as much as a full inch difference in diameter between the smallest and the largest tire.....OF THE SAME ADVERISED SIZE.

Okay, the tire i have currently is a Bridgestone Dueler H/T. Tire i'm potentially after is a Hankook Dynapro ATM. Passenger, so not 10 ply. It looks to be a lighter weight AT which evidently will help the fuel consumption somewhat. Both tires 265 70 r17.

Tire Rack states both are 31.7" diameter so I'd think you're good to go.

Thank you. I suppose thats good news for me not having to alter the suspension, but bad news as i wanted a little 'beefier' look.

I'd guess you'll still get the beefier look. I'm doing the same thing as you but with an 18" wheel. I'm switching from the Dueler H/T's to the BFG A/T KO2's but keeping the size exactly the same. I actually don't care much whether or not it looks better, just looking forward to having a more capable tire for winter.

Another thing to keep in mind is tread width and tire weight. Replaced oem dunlops P245/75-16 with Michelin LTX MS2 same stated size. Diameter, section width, tread depth,rev/mile all the same. But on the Michelins tread width is .4" wider and 3 pounds heavier.

You can clear 265/70-17 on stock suspension. That's the first thing I did to my truck when I bought it, OEM tires sucked! Replaced them with Nitto Terra Grapplers in that size, AT tire that looked beefy

''Good point. IMHO, tire width has more adverse affects than tire height when it comes to rubbing issues.
