Meh, he doesn't care. I've seen this type of guy before and it's best just to give him what he needs and let him figure it the financial part himself in a few years.

I just answered his questions and made sure at least what he buys is going to give him something he won't regret when he hits a curb.

Clearly I didn't know thats why I started this forum and have been 100% open to opinions. I'm collecting my info and haven't done anything yet. I've set aside money for this so I don't need your opinion. I'll be better off in life than you bud. Go watch more porn kiddo.

Agreed. But it still won't bode well when he is fed links to products and then buys them because he is told to, and doesn't know how they work together or understand what they do, what problems they might cause or encounter, or anything other than brand names and receipts.

He will walk into a shop and say I need my truck lifted, here is a box of parts, don't ask me any questions because I don't know any answers.

Not a problem his supposed income can help with. I don't know anybody who legitimately makes "6 figures" or near it that has ever referenced their income among strangers and when it is discussed it's not referenced that way anyway.

My bet is he is 21, got a lease because it's cheaper on a limited cash savings, and saved a few grand he would have had to use for down payment on a vehicle purchase to burn it all up trying to make a rental truck look cool. Either way, I don't care. Attitude is laughable and sad.

Thanks for the info man I do appreciate it. It's nice to have someone posting about what the quetsions/concerns are rather than having a dick like the one above. But I don't know if I want to blow that much on random parts. I'm thinking I will just get new wheels and tires that fit without having to lift.

I figured buddy would have better things to do than to talk shit on a forum. And for the record you're completley wrong, I worked my ass off all summer and my ONE toy was to lease a truck and do some sort of lift to it. And just to fuel your fire, making $136k in one summer, I think I can afford to spend 3-5k on a lift even if I have to take it off. I didn't buy the truck because it was easier to lease it with my credit being as young as it is. So just because you don't have the same opportunity doesn't mean you need to talk shit. I'm investing 70% of what I earned so I don't need your advice on money.

It's not random parts but the "dick" makes a good point that if you don't know what you are doing a shop could screw things up royally. Just put on slightly larger tires, you can get away with something between 31" and 32" in some cases, and you're better off on the lease anyways.

I dont know shit about vehicles that's why I came on here asking for advice. I'm educated and enjoy educating myself and now that you have helped me I don't want to spend that much on parts when, like you said, the shop could screw it up. Not only that but all the parts would have to be taken off if I didn't buy the truck.
And yeah that's what I will most likely do. I just hate wasting my time with dicks like him. I didn't get on a forum to hear bull shit.

More money talk nobody asked about, and you make $136k over a summer and still can't buy a $30k vehicle because of credit? Lol.
Even with no credit you can buy, it's called a down payment. Surely someone so flush after 5 months of work could buy an midsize truck priced lower than what the average new car costs.

I don't want to derail your dick swinging and wallet fapping but again.. you ask for advice on a public forum and you get advice from the public. Deal with it.

And again, nobody cares how much money anybody makes or pretends to make, and that's why nobody asked even though you feel the need to keep saying you make $X.

Fog lights, back-up camera, TRD cat-back exhaust, towing package, int. wiper stalk, Weathertech floor liners, color-matched the front bumper and grille, TSB leaf packs, Front Bilstein 5100's at 0", Eibach/Toytec coils (approx 1.25" front lift - sits almost level), rear Bilstein 5100's.
Don't know exactly what kind of look you're going for, but I did close to a 2" lift using Bilstein 5100s (at the lowest setting) with eibach coils, and TSB leaf packs in the rear. Topped off with 16" stealth SCS F-5 wheels with Hankook Dynapro 265/75/16 shoes. Truck sits near level. Rub is extremely minor, and only effects a small bit of plastic that will be entirely covered if I put the front flaps back on. Alignment is pushed to near-limits with the stock UCAs, but it holds and have experienced no handling problems or abnormal tire wear. Going on three years with this config with no issues whatsoever; CVs look great and have had no driveline abnormalities.

This fixed the stance well enough for me without getting too drastic (I drive mainly on paved roads, well-traveled dirt trails during hiking/trail running season, and in lots of snow - I don't do any hard-core offroading). The truck sits a little higher and wider, with a little thicker tire and the added bonus of riding much more like a truck should, in my opinion. Stock felt way too mushy to me. I figured I would start here and maybe push it up to a 3" lift with higher settings on the shocks and some AALs, (even bought some light racing UCAs in anticipation) but this did the trick as far as I'm concerned, so I just left it as-is.

Only chiming in because I kept all the original parts, and could easily revert to stock, as you're planning to do... Not really sure why I did though as I'm planning on keeping the truck until it dies, modifying it until the end, but there it is.

Pics are in my gallery if you want to check it out.

I'm not a professional myself but when I was 21 I lifted my 2010 TRD Sport... (cough) improperly (cough) and resulted in exactly what these guys are saying. Overloaded suspension and one problem after another. I had just got back from my first deployment with extra money to spend. You live and you learn and If I could just say as respectfully as possible Id wait to lift that bad boy and take your time with it no rush! Cheers man good luck! Id go with the wheels for now if you must.

I agree do it right alot of these guys know how it should be. I understand the lease did the same thing was not sure if I would like a Tacoma was looking at a used Colorada now a Tacoma believer. With the lease you need to keep it stock until you buy it out unless you have any thing done by the dealership. That being said how about the OEM lift kit from your dealer?

If it makes you feel better I am leasing my 2015 Trd off-road. I installed bilstein 6112's set at 2.5 inches of lift and I'm running 285/70/17 BFG KO2's. I removed my mud flaps when I brought the truck home, however I had to do some trim some plastic as well as do a CMC if I want to get rid of all the rubbing.

And to those saying leasing was a bad idea, it's affordable in the short term, especially if you know you want to mod the vehicle right away and want a little extra cash to play with. And worst case scenario if I don't want to buy the vehicle at the end of the lease, I think I can get more than $22,000 for mine three years down the line.

Come on man, leave the kid alone. While in Alaska I worked with plenty of young kids who worked their a$$ off during the summer and earned well north of $1xx,xxx in a few months. I agree what he earned is irrelevant. But he is proud of it so good for him. At least he isn't using his money for narcotics etc. I joined this forum because it is full of good info and for the most part was an adult site without bickering. Just let it go and let's help each other out.

Yeah, but I wanted to make the ordering process simple on OP. I wasn't recommending the LR upper a arms if you read my post due to their issues anyways.
