Hey all! Hope all your thanksgivings were great! I have a question for you! I have searched and searched this forum, as there is so much great information here, and i cant seem to find an answer to my specific question so if it is out there somewhere already, forgive my ignorance!
I have a 2012 trd sport DCLB. I have had it for about 3 months now and i love it! It came with a leveling/spacer kit (which i am in the process of swapping out for 5100's and eibachs). And i need to buy some new tires!
Im considering 275's or even 285's.

I have Helo maxx 17x9 wheels. -12 offset. 4.5 backspace.

I have already purchased the plates for my CMC as i have a buddy with the tools to help me do it.

So my actual question is, is how much lift do i need for the larger tires if i already have the cmc done? I know the lift has nothing to do with tire size, its more about how much trimming/if you are willing to do a cmc, so with that in mind if i had a minimal lift (5100's and eibachs) would 275's fit without rubbing on any suspension components? 285's? Thanks for any input from you guys!

Doesn't matter what tire size you get, your probably gonna rub with the wheels. Wrong offset and too wide.

lift doesn't really equate to larger tires. you can only do so much with the wheel wells. youll have to modify the truck to fit what you want. People on here run the gambit of sizes. the more you trim / cut / remove the bigger tire. a 3" lift is about the max most folks run and helps a little to fit tires. Any more than 3" you need to do a lot of work. And any tire larger than say about 33" people start to consider regearing and that is even more work. I run a 3" lift with 265/75r16 tires. I didn't cut / trim / modify anything and i don't have to regear. Anything more extreme the costs start piling up.
