Hey guys. I've got an I4 Tacoma '13 with stock/factory tires. Winter has come and my tire pressure light came on. I checked all my tires and all were at 30 psi. I tried checking the spare but the valve was facing the bed so I lowered the tire and flipped it over for easier access and cranked it back in place. I checked that tire and it is also at 30 psi.

I checked the tag in the drivers door and what I understood it to say is that all tires should be at 30 psi. Can anyone tell me why the light might be on if the tire pressure is correct?

Mine does the same. Had it reset at the dealer and it was off for about 3 weeks, back on again ever since except for half a day.

When you turn the truck on and start it, does it blink for 2 minutes? That indicates a bad sensor.

12+ don't have TPMS on the spare IIRC, my 2013 does not.

Someone said a few weeks ago that the last year the spares had TPMS was in 2011. I haven't checked mine, but FWIW all the pressures are GTG on my particular truck. I had the dealer flip the spare over and remount with the stem facing down just for this reason.

Thanks. All tires have the same pressure and it matches the door sticker so I'm guessing that it is correct.

There's a reset switch for it (on mine anyway) below the steering wheel. It tells you how to reset it in the owners manual.

The reset switch is dead center under the steering wheel on the bottom edge of the lower dash panel. Set your air pressure as desired and then press and hold the button for a few seconds.

I run 36 psi up front and 42 psi in the rear on Cooper 265/70 17 AT3's. No TPMS warning light issues whatsoever.

I would, however, like to know how to de-activate the darn thing, as I'm gonna put some big-ass wheels and tires on the truck and don't want to have to break them down to install the sensors.

I just put a set of Mickey Thompson 17x9 wheels and 33" ATX P3's without sensors.

    NO TPMS LIGHT!
