as stated above nothing you said will help. drive like granny, it makes a world of difference living in the mountains like i do so living at a lower elevation like you do will only help more. s/c gains would be minimal and essentially a waste for what you'd get out of it. chips for non diesel cars are a joke, they do absolutely nothing chip=diesel engine. exhaust wont help much either, again mileage gains will only come from a diesel. trust me, i live in an area dominated by diesels with multiple diesel mechanic friends. craigslist beater is your best friend. Wow... real "tough love" crowd here huh? ;)

Harsh as it may seem, they're generally giving you good advice. (except perhaps the tongue in cheek product suggestions  )

While is not possible to get better mileage with the vehicle you have without doing things to it that you don't want to do... it is possible to relatively improve your mileage by altering your own driving habits. Tacoma engines do pull well at low rpms.

When I drive my 2.7, I keep the rpms under 2,500 because in normal driving, anything higher is only needlessly spinning the engine. :)

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
Scangauge or something similar to give u instant mpg readings and change driving habbits. Lower gears will help city driving since ur engine wont be in such a load but hwy will suffer, but if u don't do a lot of hwy that would be an option and will give u Ur power back u lost with Ur tires.

None of those. You have to make a choice between your add-ons and MPG and toning back the pressure on the gas peddle.
You could wait until around 2016 and buy a new one since the new MPG standards change to someplace in the high 20's for trucks.
