Tire noise or wheel bearing?

    A good way to check for a dry grindey bearing is to jack up the front and spin the tire by hand with a hand on the strut. Compare both sides and you can literally feel the grind and roughness of the bearings. For rear just put the rear end on jack stands and put it in drive and listen with a screwdriver on the end of the axle. A decent ear should be able to tell the difference

    Replace the wheel bearing. The reason it goes away is because you’re unloading that bearing as you turn.

    Thanks everyone!! The driver front bearing was shot, but the wheel had no wiggle play. I changed both bearings, truck is quiet now!! Success!!
