I'm undecided about which of 3 tires to get, Firestone Destination LE, BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A, or Dunlop Radial Rover AT. Two of those are at Samsclub, and the Firestone shop is just down the street. Just wondering who's had these and if you'd definitely rule any of them out.

    Thanks for any input.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
My 07 Tacoma with TRD package came with OEM BFG Rugged Trails tires that were pretty good for on-road and dirt roads, nothing more. Got about 30k out of them.. probably could have pushed it to 40k. I am now running BFG KOs and love them. Awesome tires!

Anyway, sounds like you are going the other direction and trying to find a good street tire.

My recommendation is the BFGs. Although all three you are considering are well-respeted brands I have had BFG tires on a lot of vehicles and been very pleased with their handling, longevity, and effect on MPG.

Sorry I couldn't have actually used any of the three you are considering.. hope my anecdotal advise will be useful.

I think the Long Trail was my answer to wanting a Michelin, but less costly. I've also liked the Yokohama Geolander HTS and General Grabbers, but really don't like the tire shops that sort of nickel and dime you to death. At least at the Sams/Costcos, tires are a little less of a hassle, so I was somewhat limiting my choice to them. My other factor is ride comfort, and I drive mostly highway miles. Thanks for the suggestions.

STAY AWAY FROM THE DUNLOPS! i had them and they are the biggest garbage tire, they suck in the snow, loose gravel, etc. and they wear like a bitch. also have you considered maxxis tires, they are a great tire, and they are very well priced. i'm getting a set of the bighorns, my friend has them on his 08 and they are awesome and they wear great!
