I recently changed wheels and tires on my new 2010 taco. Shortly after, the low tire pressure light came on on the dash. It didnt dawn on me that the original wheels must of had tpm senders in them. Rather than dismount and remount both sets of tires to get them ( already sold the OEM wheels and tires but the purchaser said I could get them if I wanted to pay the tire shop. And then would they fit the new 18" rims?) I figure I will just do without tpms. But now I would like to get rid of the dash light. Anyone have any suggestions?

What size tires are you running? I just recently put 285s on and the light will come on and stay on unless the tires are filled to the max 65 psi (at 60 the light goes off but anything lower puts the light right back on.) I too need help with this.

Yeah...If you have the sensors in your rims still you need to make sure the pressures are all even and then press the reset button.

You also need to check that those pressures (I recommend the chalk test- search it) to make sure those aren't over inflated.

My problem is the new rims don't have sensors. I left them in the old rims. So the monitor isn't getting a reading. The reset button doesn't help.

I actually like the piece of electrical tape idea although I might use a black dot sticker. Thanks foxy sand chick

Seatbelt chime turned off, Toyota bedmat, Wet Okoles, stock other than that.
My buddy Fire931 took out his gauge cluster and removed the bulb from the back of the cluster since that's the way that the Tacoma is set up to alert you by just the light. As far as I know he hasn't had any problems with his since he did that but maybe he will see this thread and chime in.

If you have the same size and make of tire that the truck came with. Otherwise- Search for "Chalk Test" and do that. My guess is somewhere in the 30-40 range tho...

Check what the tire manufacturer suggests, or what is on the side of the tire, or the chalk test...what tires and size do you have?

Welcome, that is easiest since you don't have the sensors at all...or like mentioned take the dash apart and remove the light. ;)
