Tire Pressure Recco. Load E Toyo AT3’s

Hey all,

Been doing some reading and have heard people saying that like 34-35 psi is a bit too low for a load E tire. On my rig, I have LT 255/80/R17 Toyo AT3’s in load range E. People are saying to go up to 40 something and some say 30s is fine. Most of the time the truck isn’t loaded, and I rarely ever tow anything and if I did it would be a few times a year at the most. Any tire pressure recommendations for guys running either these exact same tires or similar tires? I’m just trying to find a good pressure for the type of use the tires are getting. I want them to wear as good as possible as well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

 

I'm running 315/75/16s and my warm tire pressure is 35 psi

 

Thanks for the input. I feel like lower pressures are fine if you’re not loading it up or towing?

 

I run 38psi in my 265/70r17 Toyo RT E if I’m doing a highway trip or towing the rv, otherwise I keep it around 32psi for daily driving.

Tire wear is even over 3 years, so far so good.

 

E rated is a lot. I run 30 cold in my Toyo AT2s and they are still looking great. I have about 20k miles on the tires and I'm switching them to my 99 4Runner and going to the new AT3s and might have to get the E rated 275/70/17s and I was asking myself the same question, air pressure? I think 32 cold and let them warm up to 35.

 

285/65-18 Nitto Terra Grappler G2 E loads. I run 40 psi and ride quality is still just fine. Been running these for about 5 years and 70K miles with no issues.
