Tire pressure sensors

I recently purchased new rims and tires when I ordered them I have them put tire Tire pressure monitoring System in the new tires and I'm struggling with how to get them to register on the truck does anyone have any ideas or does it need to be taken to a dealership

 

Did you have the TPMS sensors on the truck b4 the new tires? If not you have to make sure the have the right off set for the rims you are using. If brand new you will need someone with a tool to have them registered with the truck. You will only be able 2 use 4. So spare tire WON'T show.

 

No they are new that came with the New tires and rams . I had a 6 inch lift kit put on the truck and went from 17 inch rims to 20 inch rims . Can a place like discount tires reprogram it

 

They have to have the unit. Hang on I have a friend that owns a meineke and I'll see what has to be done and what the scanning tool is. I think it's snap on. But 1 sec.

Also does your truck have TPMS on it? And y not use the old ones? Toyota does make offset ones for certain rims.

The tool he uses is this one. I sent him your question as well. His repsonse:

Id have to read them and see if they are compatible, if so i can register them if not he needs sensors that speak the same language as his truck

 

When I bought the new rims and tires I just took the old rims and tires off and sold them because when I ordered the new rims and tires I had the pressure sensor put in them

 

And they New that they were for a 2016 Toyota tacoma

 

Where are you located? And do you have a pic with the lift done?

OK back on subject.
They have to be compatible with the Tacoma. If they are and you r sure call pep boys, advanced auto or discount tires and ask if the can register them to the truck. It reads the SN of the sensor and then it hooks to the obd2 and register's to the truck.

Yes if you change them. So when you get new tires. Not rims it's a rule of thumb to get a TPMS kit. It has a new bolt and rubber piece. But yes if you get new TPMS sensor the truck needs to see the new serial number.
