what is the recommended tire pressure for our tacomas to get the best gas mileage? I have 17" wheels with stick tires, if that info helps.

Over inflation for best MPG (as in hypermilling) doesn't create the best wear (life) for the tire, not to mention reduced safety from tire.

Start with the pressures in your door jamb. Do a tread chalk test, adjust as required. Then do a sidewall chalk test if you are a 'hard cornering' driver, at least on the front tires.

Keep in mind pressures change 1# per 10* temp change, rising or falling. So weather will be a factor in keeping them accurate.

And before someone else chimes in............. if you bought the Tacoma for MPG, you got the wrong vehicle. However, I agree with you that it's reasonable to attempt to maximize what you have as long as it doesn't suck all the fun out of it.

I always go with the door tag and have not regretted it. The stock tires on my 2010 went 60K and have 40K on my 2015 and still looking barely worn.
