I get contradicting answers between BFG, tire shops and friends.
    Daily city driving
    275/70/17 KO2's
What tire pressure you guys suggest?
    I was running around 40psi
Tire shop set it and insisted on 30
    It looks soft to me......

It'll definitely be way closer to 30 than it will 40. You want the entire tire contacting the road for many reasons. If you continue to run at 40, they'll be upwards of 42-43 when you're driving in hot weather. You'll wear out the center of the treads much faster than the outside... It doesn't take very long.

Put chalk across the tread, roll a little bit, it should wear evenly.

My door sticker says 29 PSI and every time I've been to the dealer, they very "courteously" set 'em to 34+ .... It makes a huge difference for me... Hit a bumpy on-ramp too fast with too much pressure and it's downright dangerous IMO... Mine will bounce all over the place every time so I just double check it myself.

29 psi here. Dealership likes to set them at 36 for some reason, I knock them back down. It looks like it squats a tad bit too much but i cant argue the even wear and the great gas mileage i get

I set mine at 29 cold with nitrogen and it .might get to 32 on a 100 deg. day. Before nitrogen I was at 29 cold and they would get to 36 lbs. Way to much and the truck rides hard!

Isn't the recommended PSI found right on the tire itself?

My KO2's are at 36 cold. Looks like I may get 55-60k out of them. 265/70/17's.

Generally not, from my experience that is just the "maximum PSI" Tires go on too many different vehicles with different loads for the tire itself to have a designated PSI.

there is no conflicting info. do the chalk test and get the single correct answer.

No. That's max pressure. I can't think of any scenario where you would want max pressure in a Tacoma with it's towing and payload capacity.

Don't the E rated tires require higher pressure? The door sticker is for P rated tires.

They don't require higher pressures, but they have the capacity for higher pressures. I can get down low and determine the correct pressure. But a sure way is the previously mentioned chalk test.

No, that is maximum. The design pressure can be found on the sticker inside the frame of the door. I want to say it’s around 30psi from memory.
