Yeah, could see those words verbatim with the one change of daughter to son. Let's hang off on crucifying the guy.

I just felt he only had negative things to say about his kid.

I’d be over the moon to have a daughter into trucks. I’d be using it as an excuse to spend time with her and teach her to off road.
    I wouldn’t stiffle it.

Its not everyday you share interests with your kid.

And a girl can learn to drive a 6cyl, manual, with 285s ;D!!

OP... get your daughter a 6cyl and go spend some time with her getting stuck, breaking shit, and fixing it together.
    Just my 2 cents

OP, the tire size that came with your truck(245/75/16) is not the OEM size for a 4cyl. Your truck should've came with the much smaller 215/70/15 wheel/tire set. Your truck will have much more pep/mpg for a 4cyl if you simply downgrade to the original size due to the correct axle gearing(26" tire vs 30" tire). Your current size tire is for the more heavier 6 cyl tacomas and likely that the tires are not P-rated tires that your truck was originally outfitted with.

Changing to the original tire size in a P-metric tire size will make a noticeable improvement in ride quality and drivability along with correcting the speedometer readings due to incorrect OEM tire size.

On my old T-100 and now on my Tacoma, I run 35 in the front and 32 in the rear unless I'm going to haul something. Then I'll up the rears accordingly.
I keep my vehicles for a long time and have replaced several sets of tires over the years. At these pressures, I get pretty even wear.
Of course, it will vary depending on tire size and vehicle weight, but this is what I run and I check them about once a month.

Ok it's not a daughter or girl thing.... I have two daughters and throughout the years we have done several things together, dirt biking and 4 wheeling to name a couple.

Yes, it would be great to do some off-roading with her! I also nothing but proud of my daughter! She is a senior in High School playing varsity volleyball and varsity softball. She is also dual enrolled and is on track to graduate with a Associates Degree the same time she graduates High School. Finally she is on a Showcase Softball team trying to get noticed by colleges so most weekends are spent on a softball field. Not much time left for off-roading.

4cyl would be easier on gas there for less expensive for her to use, when she goes to college. Not sure she won't end up off-roading. Yes, I am teaching her to drive a stick shift, not to own a stick just so she knows how.

Also yes I am knew to the forum, I will try to chose my words better next time.
    Thanks for all the input.

a 4 cylinder pre runner truck is a great vehicle to start off with for a son or a daughter, also since your in Fla. you wont have to worry too much about snow/ice so the 2wd will be perfect fit. and the 4 banger is pretty easy for DIY maintainence
