It's solid - but today I only drove the truck literally less than a minute each way. May it takes a mile or so to reset?

Nice - looks like a 3/4 ton version of a Tacoma. I wish my spare tire was where yours is.

Wilco mount, been carrying spares here for over 5 years now with no bed rail problems at all. You can also throw a lock on the mount. Works great.

Are the Rocktrix wheels hub centric for Toyota?

I thought that bronze finish would pair well with Pyrte Mica, and it does.

No, and you have to use an 1.25ET lug, not a problem, last 2 sets of wheels have been this type. Thanks for your interest.

Looks like a great setup - and you mounted the tire the correct way, with the valve accessible! If mine was like that, I could have checked the air pressure already. And agreed, the bronze wheel finish pairs well with Pyrte Mica.

I don't recall if it was this forum, or maybe a whole different truck - but I read about the spare tire lowering/raising system getting stuck or not working.

The wheels on my Tacoma are not hub centric, not a big deal for me. The Rocktrix did come in at an attractive price point last time I looked.

If you are in the rust belt that is a common problem, in the south where I am nothing really rusts.

My spare tire was installed the way it's supposed to be. I was thinking, it was probably never used, so done at the factory. But I wonder why so the stem isn't accessible? From the manual -

It's probably because with the stem down the wheel collects alot of dirt an debris which isn't a problem where there's no rust but in a rust belt area could potentially rot out the wheel faster.

    Mine is stem up.
It can be hard to top off the pressure with stem up.
But once you have the right air chuck it’s a lot easier.

I think that style was originally designed for dually axle trucks right? So you could get to the inner tire stem?

I was going to ask what an air chuck was. Could an air gauge be placed on that? I would have expected to see an end the same diameter of the tire valve.

That is my understand too. For dual wheel vehicles.

I’ve basically been taking care of my grandparents property since I was in high school.
As for back as I can remember, that style air chuck is what I’ve pretty much always used.
Mostly because that’s what’s hanging from the side of the air compressor with all the other air tool accessories. I’m also still using the old style slide pin air gauge. I guess I’m a creature of habit.
I don’t like all the new digital stuff.

After recently going from P to LT tires, I had to quickly get up to speed on tire pressures. Tire PSI is basically the same across all manufactures and based on tire construction/ load rating.

    https://tirepressure.com/tire-pressure-calculator

Our stock P rated 265/65/17 have a cold pressure recommendation of 29psi (check door jam info). By the calculation above, LT tire pressure should be set at 40psi to handle same load.

OEM Tire Size P265/65R17 (SL 110) with load capacity of 2149 lbs. @ 29 psi.
When a P-metric or Metric tire is installed on a pickup truck, SUV or van, you must discount the replacement tire’s load by the 1.10 factor to ensure that the replacement tire has sufficient load capacity by inflation to support the load of the originally installed tires based on the expectation that passenger type tires may experience more severe loading and usage conditions when applied to light trucks. That brings the effective tire load capacity down to 1954 lbs.

New Tire Size LT265/70R17 (E 121/118) with load capacity of 2075 lbs. @ 40 psi.
New tire LT265/70R17 has sufficient load capacity at its specified inflation level and can be used to replace P265/65R17 tire.

Same psi with the 245/65/16s my truck originally had.

Today I drove to and from work, TPMS light is still on, so it's either the spare, or maybe as mentioned the batteries on the sensors have run down. Or maybe just on the spare which would be 15 years old. I have no idea when the stock 245 tires were replaced with 265s. I wish I could disable the system. I've always owned older vehicles and until briefly owning a newer SUV I traded in for the Tacoma, never had a TPMS except on company vehicles. It's always been a routine of mine so manually check the tires with a gauge. Like @TnShooter mentioned, an analog one.

Does your TPMS light flash for 30 sec to a 1min. when you start the truck?
