I also try to balance my BMX tire between being rigid enough to maintain speed, reduce the possibility of rim damage if I case a landing, and also being low enough to be able to get the ideal amount of “pop” when hopping. Again I throw all this out the window when I ride smooth bicycle trails as I am merely looking for less rolling resistance.

I guess it all comes down just what your daily driving involves.

For the longest time I ran 45 psi in the rear and 35 psi in the front .

Maybe as much as 30,000 miles with no abnormal wear .

    Till I got new tires.

The roads around here are pretty rough with mini potholes and cracks pretty much everywhere. I commute 20 minutes to work by freeway 3x a week. Will definitely air up when I visit Sacramento every once in awhile.

Aired down to 30 psi yesterday which made a little difference so as long as the tread wears even I’ll probably stick with that.

Higher tire pressure does generally equate to better fuel efficiency, but it can be a direct result of tires wearing out faster as well. I know money wise it would likely be more cost effective to run higher pressures, but it’s easier for me to fill up more often as opposed to spending thousands of dollars on tires multiple times a year.

There are so many variables you just need to figure out what works best for your given application .
