Tire question (I'm on a time crunch)

So let me start this by saying I know there are at least 50 million threads on this, so I hate to ask again, but I found a cut in one of my tires and have to get new ones ASAP, so I don't have the time to dig through all the other threads to find what I'm looking for. Now that that is out of the way, 2 questions:
    1. General Grabber AT 2's vs Cooper Discoverer ST Maxxes. Opinions?
    2. What's the largest size I can go on stock 16 inch rims, on a stock 09 sr5 dclb without trimming?
I really wanted to wait and do lift and tires at the same time, but financially that isn't going to happen, so tires it is for now.

General Grabber is grippier, shorter wear life (From what I've heard from reviews).

Without trimming, I'd stay at 265s. You might be able to get away with 275s.

265/75/R16 is the largest without rubbing, which is 1" over stock. Look for getting them in C-load. Avoid heavy E-load tires which will affect mpgs and power.

So what you're saying is they will wear faster so I could get new ones later when I lift it.....:anonymous:

I have the Grabber AT2 on our 2012 ACLB 6 manual. We went with 265/70/16 at stock height. I have since put a minor lift, 5100s with 884s, drivers side spacer and AAL in the rear. Love the tires and they are affordable.

By the way, we do not drive the truck that much, but we have around 12k miles on the tires and all is good. Our tire guy (who I trust and he is the ONLY guy I go to for tires) said we should get 50k on the General Grabber AT2s. We will probably have to change them due to age before we hit that mileage.

That could work! Yeah the big negative I've heard on GG's is that they wear quicker than other tires.

Yup, my grabbers just came in earlier this week and will be mounted tomorrow. With a UTQG rating of 640 and a 60K mile warranty I feel pretty comfortable that these will be on my truck for years to come. Out the door price is jus under $700. Cant beat it.

Has anybody tried 275's at stock height? If so did you have any rubbing issues and do you have a pic?

Another vote for the grabbers. I've got them in 265/70r17 (+1") and it looks good even with a lift

I just bought the BFG A/T KO2s and love them. Nice ride and not a lot of noise on Hwy.

Here's a pi of mine at stock height. Again, these are 17's but the same diameter overall

^^^Agree. I have over 24k miles on mine, and they look to have another 25k+ in them easily. Still at 13/32 tread depth, down from 16/32 original.

These are the 265s. I was just in another thread and the guy had 275s and was rubbing the UCA as well as the plastic

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cooper-st-maxx-tight-fit.447819/

EDIT: Wait, I just realized I don't know of any 275s in a 16" rim

EDIT #2: Nevermind. I was thinking of 275/75r16 but I realized you never specified which size you wanted. There's 275/70r16 out there.
