06 Tacoma Access Cab 2wd 4cyl 5 speed manual

hello,
i recently bought a 2006 Tacoma Access cab 2wd manual with stock tires. they are 15's i believe. i want to know what the largest tire i can put on my truck without doing a lift is and what type of tires are best. i would like to be able to do some off roading in it. also can anyone recommend a good tire. also if i go larger will i need to buy bigger rims and how much would it affect my speedometer???

help would be great.......
