First time Tacoma owner. Got myself a sweet 2021 Tacoma SR 4x4. It's only got 30k miles on it and I'm pretty sure it's still got the original tires. So planning on getting some new tires next year some time. I live in rural northern Indiana on a gravel road in a county that has alot of gravel roads. Any of you more experienced guys have any recommendations for good all terrain tires that would fit the stock rims? Don't need anything for crazy off roading but do need something that can deal with the occasional drive through muddy roads and snow in the winter.

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Rexing front and rear dash camera, some LEDs, Weathertech HP floor liners/vent shades/bug deflector/underseat storage bin, OEM Ford bed mat, Diode Dynamics SS3 Pros in selective yellow, Diode Dynamics 18" light bar in amber and universal Carhartt seat covers. Bak Revolver X4S tonneau cover. Android Auto USB plug upgrade! H11 to H9. Sound deadened/insulated floors and rear wall. VLED license plate reverse light. Yokohama GO15s. Rokblokz mud flaps. "Custom" 3in Flowmaster Super 50 Series cat back with a 3in Speedys Snap resonator. J&L catch can. AMP Powersteps
Have you looked at the Yokohama Geolandar GO15s? They're pretty mild but do have the Severe Snow Service rated so they'll do pretty well in the snow. Thinking of getting those on my truck here in the next month

Falken Wildpeak AT3W is my current set and they are pretty nice. I went with 235/85/16 for a slight pizza cutter look, helps keep the weight down on them since I have them in a LT flavor. but you can probably get away with a C rated version

I put on Michelin LTX Defenders. I am all on pavement except for occasional deep snow in my area and they work great for me. If you encounter serious mud you may want to look for more aggressive tread.

Any passenger car (i.e. Pxxx/yyrzz) all-terrain tire (A/T) should fit the bill. Pick your price range. Although a majority of your neighbors are probably running all-season tires and doing just fine, the all-terrain will give you a bit more traction in mud and snow, but might not be as efficient, quiet, or last as long.

Another vote for Michelin Defender LTX MS. They will handle anything except deep mud. Last forever. Very quiet on the road. I have never been afraid to run them on gravel or rocky surfaces.

Another vote for the Michelin LTX M/S Defender. These are unbeatable for on road - and do amazingly well on the wet, dirt/gravel and SNOW for such a mild thread design. And they last... They are also great on mud as long as it is not deep muck.

Unless you need anything more aggressive for deeper muck (or cred at the mall - as with most), these will serve you perfectly well.

AND yes - SL are fine for these trucks...

I drove a set of these for almost 80K on a Frontier, great on dry pavement, quiet, and fantastic on packed snow. When I recently got my first Tacoma (a 2013) the previous owner had put these on it. I call Michelin tires on used vehicles “old man tires”, meaning the vehicle belonged to a mature individual that took care of it.

My 2021 SR5 OEM Tires went to hell around 15,000 miles, after 3 rotations - quite surprised at that.

Took advantage and bought stock-size WildPeaks - couldn't be happier.
Nice road manners, and if I hit rough gravel roads etc I drive with confidence.

Expensive, but they look good and feel good.

Bought a set for the wife's Forester as well -

The Michelin LTX M/S Defender looks like a well made tire too, neighbor has a set on her TRD.

Best two sets of tires you can get, your last set and your next set.
