I was riding 80 miles round trip daily to work on the Coopers in Philly over the past few winters which were actually snowy and they were great.

Since you specifically said you won't be using them off road in extreme conditions where you're likely to get a puncture, in snow, or in other conditions that an all-terrain tire is needed to be used in I would recommend this route:

Save a ton of money and get a set of STOCK TRD OR tires from someone here. The tire is plenty aggressive for what you're talking about doing with it, and most folks that have kept them long enough to try them off road or in inclement conditions like snow and heavy rain have found their performance to be admirable. It isn't "bro" looking, and they are also very quiet on road with excellent handling characteristics as well.

If you decide you want higher performance tires (for conditions it doesn't quite sound to me like you really need), the Falken wild peak AT3's that I had were fantastic tires. I'm sure all of the others on the list are excellent as well, but I have to say one more time that all of those tires are overkill, and a lot more money for your noted uses.

The money you save can probably fund a few trips. At least thats the way I usually look at truck upgrades.

I don't see any reason a highway tire wouldn't work well. All terrain is overkill what you're using the truck for based on your post.

The tread and life span of your tires is impressive. I had no idea the toyos would last that long - definitely something to consider.

Unfortunately, Sport has 17" rims and the OR has 16" rims.

He mentioned having picked up TRD Pro 4Runner wheels, which are 16"s.

Yep, that a 285/75r16 on the truck and my new unmounted 35/12.50r17 sitting right next to them. I have the dark bronzr SR8 on order and should be here in two weeks. I'm crazy excited!:bananadance:20161230_153518.jpg 20161230_211516.jpg

Thanks! I'll be super excited when the cutting, welding and beating to get them to fit is over.

It's a high mileage E load that is meant for a lot heavier truck than a tacoma. It fits my needs perfectly.

I like the Toyo open country AT/2 also. I have them in C load. You can hear them on the highway when the radio is off, so the noise is there but not bad at all. You can get them in SL depending on the size you want also but the side and shoulders are not as aggressive as the C and E.

This is a pic of my C load.

Easy answer bro, KO2's, I put those on everything. Quite, Smooth, handle well in the rain, normally pretty good priced. BFG's won more dirt races than any other tire.

    And always White Walls out.

Loving the way they look with the white letters. How's the noise and ride with those?
