How is your alignment? I believe twitchy steering is a result of not enough caster.

That is exactly what happened. I saw the gash in the front and just assumed that is what was causing the issue, but this sounds like it could be the actual problem. Now time for my 5th opinion haha...

I had it aligned the first time I took it in, but that was with the dude who gave me the bogus diagnosis. The most recent shop I took it to said everything looked good to them and that suspension was good all around.

See if you can get the numbers from them. What's good for stock isn't necessarily good for lifted. We shoot for more caster.

    Little bit of stuff.
Mine did the same exact thing a month after I initially trimmed them to fit my 33's. had the lower portion "secured" with zip ties, and they kept tearing, so I finall chopped the whole front section off of each. I have to be more diligent when cleaning the undercarriage but no more rub! ( on plastic anyway, cab mount and UCA are another story...)

I will definitely try to get some more info. Read through some stuff about caster and it makes sense to increase it for sure.

Ok, I'm pretty positive this is the case.

I followed the instructions and thought I did everything correctly, however, it's happened again 3 times since I reset the system. Including this morning and that was at a lower speed than it's happened before.

Should I try this fix again? Or is there something else I can try? Pretty scary when it just kicks in out of nowhere...not trying to die out here :D

Okay, I will try again today after work.

One question though, the instructions say to let it sit for 2-3 seconds during calibration, is it bad to let it sit for longer? I originally read it as 2-3 minutes, but caught my mistake about 20 seconds in and removed the wires. Figured that couldn't hurt but thought I'd ask just in case.

I haven't had to recalibrate mine. I have a 2.5" lift in skinny 33s and all is well
