I have had that exact same orangish stain on my Expedition after taking it to the dealer for service. They put some crap on the tires that sprayed onto the paint. I took it to a detail shop and they took it off with a rotary buffer and rubbing compound. I tried and tried by hand with rubbing compound and couldn't get it to change whatsoever! It will come off...just need professional grade tools to do it.

This going to sound like a Joke but try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I don't know what is in those things but they really work on almost everything. I had something splash up on the hood of my white BMW. I tried soap, WD-40 and a couple more cleaner I remember at the moment. Someone suggested one of the Mr Clean things and it seriously was like magic. Wet it, wring out excess water scrub lightly a few times and it took the stain off my white paint. It's worth a try for a few bucks.

OP - I would find out what brand of product and the chemical(s) in the product. This can help the paint shop figure out thr best way to get that stuff off or out of your paint.

Different chemicals can migrate into the top coat etc... and may require some sort of special attention.

^ +1 with the buff. MG 205 and a DA with a microfiber pad will remove it for good.

Your ceramic coat wasnt coated at all. Ceramic coat if done, and done properly will be a layer that tire shine cannot stick too.

NO NO NO. You may as well use sandpaper if you are going to do this. Don't use magic eraser on your paint.

Just buy some primer in a can at Home depot. Squirt a few sprays over each problem area.. you'll never know.

That will not come off. The dealership tried everything to remove it from mine and even brought in an outside chemist. All they accomplished was removing the clear coat. The ended up giving me a new truck. It was my truck in the other thread. Be careful with what you try, you end up taking the clear coat off. Good luck, I'm sorry it happened but you can forget it being removed, it's permanent regardless of what anyone else says. An anti mold agent on the new tires mixed with the the tire shine is what caused it.

    Please see below!

    I concur with this.

Mr. Clean magic erasers are melamine foam and are abrasive. You may not notice it directly but under the right light you'll see scratches in the clear coat depending on how hard you scrubbed. If you put some elbo grease into it you've more than likely removed the clear coat from that area.

Try bug and tar remover. Just make sure to wash the area and then rewax or seal that spot after to protect it.I agree with others if that ceramic coating was any good it should have wiped right off!

I'm assuming whatever it is, is simply below your ceramic coating and will need each spot buffed thus removing the ceramic coating and spot, then they will have to re-coat each spot.

The compound you used may not have been aggressive enough to get through the ceramic coating.

True. They could have put tire shine, then ceramic coated over it. If that's what happened, find out the person's name so that he cannot be hired anywhere to do coating....

Before you coat, you have to thoroughly detail and prepare the paint even a new car....
