Tire Shopping (2007 Tacoma Dbl Cab)

Hey everyone, I am shopping for new tires for my truck (which is trd 4x4) and I have come across these tires:



They are made by Master Craft and they are the Courser MXT. I would need the 265/70/R17 versions. Has anyone had any of these tires and what do you think about them?

Never ran these but I believe they are made by cooper.

Dont waste your time with those. Go with Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx I love mine. I'll never go to another brand or style ever again. Google them there bad ass and have killer reviews. Check with Discount Tire they have the best prices. Find the cheapest price online and they will match it.

 

what was wrong with them ^ ?

 

they are made by cooper tire. not a bad tire but for the price i would look at the cooper st maxx or the stt for the price. if your lookig for cheeper look at the kenda mt.

 

Farnorcal, what size are you running? How are they on the highway?

 

Like others said get the ST Maxx the mastercrafts are ok but the Maxx will be better and a lot more quiet... And prob last longer, Cooper makes a lot of brands that's for sure...

 

Those are 255/80/17 which is 33"

I would want to know what you plan on doing with the tire. If you drive in the snow or ice regularly those tires will blow, they will also not perform great on wet roads. No sipes.

 

just get them sipped not hard.

 

I'm not a fan of aftermarket sipes, they're better than nothing but they are not tire designed or specific. I experience too much chunking with aftermarket.

 

hmm. what load range are you running C, D or E?

All of my experiences with siping were on P and I believe D&E but I could be off. I will say my issues were with Les Schwab sipes on Wild Country MT's and Toyo AT's. The AT's were P, I forget what the MT's were, probably E.

 

I had my tires sipped from les schwab. I am running Kelly Safari tsr. Had to no issue of chunking.

 

Same... I ran a 35" BFG MT KO2 for 15,000 miles on a Jeep TJ and didn't exerpience any chunking from the siping. They held up really well despite seeing a lot of time on rocks.

 

Did they do just the center lugs or the whole face? I think now they are only doing the center lugs to avoid some of the chunking issues..

They did the whole face.

 

I siped my ST MAXX's took me awhile to do all four but I think it really helps, I've heard that Cooper is looking to upgrade the MAXX's with more siping which would be great....
