So I’ll be needing new tires soon and the main one I have in mind is the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws in a 265/75/16. I’ve looked on Discount Tire’s website for them and I’m unsure of what to select for “load index/speed rating” or “load range”.

I do mainly on road driving for work, but do go off road occasionally. I don’t do any rock crawling or mudding, mainly just gravel roads or dirt roads.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Falkens are a good choice, you want SL standard load tires for what you need. E rated LT tires are heavier, so you have worse mileage but better tread life and offroading via deflating.

Another couple of choices is Cooper AT3 in standard load, or Toyo AT2 standard load.

The LT versions of those tires always look beefier, but cost more, weigh more and often are over kill.

Is the difference in aggressiveness that noticeable between the LT and E versions?

SL is P, aka, what is sold on 99% of light and medium duty trucks.

LT is C,D,E. Most often E is the only choice, D is rare in Tacoma sizes, and C is often lower rating then some SL tires.

LT means more ply, and often much thicker and stronger side walls, which means more aggressive look.

SL tires tend to bulge at the sides more, making it appear like a car tire. Falkens don't suffer from this as much as the stock tires that came with your truck.

I just installed Wildpeaks (265/70-16 SL) on our 2012 TRDOR and couldn't be more pleased. I only have several hundred miles on them and haven't had to test them is deep snow yet. Based on your needs, I would imagine that the SL's would be a good choice for you. LT's will probably be overkill and more costly....

If you look at tread depth of a tire that is offered in both P and LT sizes you'll find the LT sizes usually have 3 or so more 32nds of an inch of depth and and generally have a little more aggressive sidewall

    The SL's use a silica/rubber compound and the LT's don't.......

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W in the SL is a solid choice for daily driving and one of the favorite tires on TW. If we can be of assistance please let us know.

I might have to order a set through y’all. My local Toyota dealer doesn’t deal in these so I’d have to buy them myself.
