I have a OME lift on my truck and stock 16" wheels. What is the biggest tire I can put on there without having to trim fenders and would I need a set of wheel spacers? I have done some searching, so dont flame me too hard, but I have seen lots of referances to 17" wheels and not so much for 16". I have 285/70/16 on right now.

On a side note, could a "largest tire with X" lift" sticky be made? I know a lot of you guys have this kind of stuff memorized, but it might save a lot of posts like this. Just a thought.

Well typically once you go to 33's and up you will start rubbing on the cab mount and no reasonable amount of lift will fix that, although a small backspacing and/or wheel spacers will help that some. I have about 3" of lift with 255/85R16's (33"x10") on 4.5" backspacing and I had to do some minor trimming to the fender flares and some of the plastic wheel well liner that is behind the front bumper. I rub on the cab mount and pinch weld occasionally but nothing major. The skinny tires help with that a lot though. If you wanted to stay wider, it will just make the rubbing that much worse, especially when offroading.

I'll do some looking and see what other sizes are close to a 33" tire. I want to keep the wider tire though. As long as I dont have to rtim any metal, I'll be happy.

Do your 285's rub right now? I am wanting to put 285's on mine but have read a lot about rubbing issues. They say trimming is a necessity.

    I have 16x8 rims with 4.5 BS - I am running 315/75 16 which is about 35" and a hair over 12" wide

Had 33's before this so just had to do a little more pounding in the front since I already chopped the cab. I ended up running fiberglass fenders in the front. Didn't trim anything on the rear, just moved the axle back 1"

This is on a 3" lift

My 285's dont rub. I havent done a whole lot of off roading, but I should have done enough to have found out by now. It mainly stays on the road and some forest service trails.

Too many variable for a one size fits all thread.
I'm running the same size tires (BFG KM2s) & same BS (16x7 1st Gen TRDs) as Brady and have had to do no trimming, and have no rubbing with my 3" OME lift and I still have front mud flaps on.

Oh I should mention I have a 16x8" rim, but yeah my mud flaps were gone instantly. It rubbed like crazy on them. Even the way your alignment is set can affect whether your tires rub or not.
