Okay I am in a predicament. I love so much how 33x12.5r15s look on our trucks and that’s what I want. But 285/75r16s are more conservative and in the long run would be easier. My question is what should I go for this summer. I love the 33x12.5s but I’m worried it might be a little much for the 1st wheel and tire upgrade. Let me know what y’all think. Fyi I’m leaning heavily towards 33x12.5 so good pics of 285’s would be a good way to make me lean the other way. Thanks yall

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
I’m a 265/75R16 that will be going 285/75R16 soon. Either or are good. I have heard the 3.4 struggles a little to move 285’s though.

I have 285 75 16 toytec 2.5-3 and they rub when turning over bumps I'm sure I can adjust toytec but I like the softer ride. I had the 1.5 leveling spacers first they rubbed more and ride was definitely not good. I also have pinch weld done

I see 255 narrow over 285 but taller will this be better for not to rubbing?

Correct. A lot easier to fit without rubbing.

Depends on your suspension setup. I put it out there based on my experience with the performance of that particular tire and size .

If your suspension is essentially stock, you are going to have issues with anything over 265/75/16. Wheels will play a huge part in the whole "will it rub" conversation as well.

For trucks that are lifted, a good thread is

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Nothing a sledge can't fix though, 33s fit fine on sagged old front stock suspension...

285/75/16, no rubbing after some pinch weld massaging and some fender liner trimming

285-75-16 should fit fine, if you're lifted a few inches. Can't speak for those not lifted.

    I'm on Wild Peaks 285-75
