Simply one question: On my 3rd gen Taco (access cab) with 1.5 inches rear and front upgrade suspension, does new 285-75-16 tires will rub?

Most likely. No one can ever say 100% unless it’s crazy obvious. But based on what I’ve seen and what I got, very good chance you’ll rub

I just picked up 255/85-16 which is a 34 inch tall tire but narrow and she fits with minor front mud flap rub. Take the mud flaps off no rub but I am keeping my mud flaps on their just hard plastic rubber and replaced for cheap.
And a 285 will be a 33 inch tall but the tire will be wider by an inch or so and here’s mine

I’m in this same issue. But the price of 255’s are higher and there isn’t very many choices.

What ultimately made you choose the 255’s?

i've got Michelin P265/60R 18" tires on mine...they don't rub. Thats the way they came from the factory. They are big and brawny and perfect!

it's more likely going to rub than not rub. wheel offset and backspacing will factor in too.

I wanted a taller tire to fill the wheel well but not wide which would create real rubbing all the time. And the Toyo is an awesome tire I have these on my Ford Raptor as well. The tire is about $225 give or take in the market and I got all of mine done installed, balanced and tax for $$1,044.00 and totally worth it. Plus since it’s not any wider than my factory tire I think the fuel mileage will be the same if not maybe a litttle better. And if your doing real off roading then I’d only maybe go on a 275 and or just figure a 1” spacer in the front for 285 or the 255.
Here’s some close up pictures of the front tire:

I just had the 255/85/r16's Cooper ST Maxx put on today. They are billed as 33's, but they are a bit smaller than 33. They are close to the same width as the stock tires but a couple inches about 2 inches bigger in diameter. There is no problem fitting them on my stock OR with no lift. I took a few hard turns and they aren't hitting anything. Haven't performed any off road test, but the seem like they'll be fine. I'll be removing the front flaps more for a more balanced look than clearance. Although the ice build-up here will probly destroy them if I don't remove them anyway.

Here's a pic of mine with the 255's on stock OR suspension with no adjustment.

Do you happen to have any good pictures of the whole truck with those tires mounted?

Any chance you could take a pic with the wheels full turn? That’s where the distance matters

I really wish the 255/85/16 had more offerings. I just ordered Falken Wildpeakes in 265/75/16 to replace my KO2s

Stiffer springs. It's not much difference though once they both settle.
