I will be getting a 3 inch lift this weekend. I want to get new wheels and tires. Should I stick with the stock size of 16 inch wheel or go to 17 inch. Also what tire size should I go with?

You could run 16-20" wheels...it's up to you.
    Backspacing matters.
    Do you have mud flaps.
Do you plan to remove or cutting them?
Do you want to do a cmc? (Cab mount chop) in order to fit the largest possible tire?
Do some research here on tacomaworld.
Or Google search tacomaworld.com largest tire 3" lift..
Should be a good starting point.

Well said ChemDawg, I would only add: what do you want to do with them? Mall crawling? Whatever rim size you want, I believe you could be "riding on blades" if you want...lol SOrry about that. Offroad...lots of opinions...but I would not go bigger than 16s myself.

Thank you for the replies. I don't to serious offroading. I like to take trails every once in awhile. I was just worried about the stock sized wheels and tires looking too small with a 3" lift. I don't want to do any cutting either.

If you don't want to do any cutting or removing flaps, I would stick to a 2" lift and run 265/75/16 or 265/70/17. That gives you a size up on the tires plus the lift and you won't need to do any trimming. Not to mention that you probably won't NEED UCAs which saves a lot of money.

I believe in more rubber than metal so I prefer 16s. The places I take my truck will tear up the larger rims. I just went up to 265/75/16 when I bought new tires. I think they would be a good size with a 3" lift. They fit perfect on my Baja. Pics are not great because it was raining and I had to take from the garage.WP_20161203_12_29_22_Pro.jpg WP_20161203_12_29_39_Pro.jpg

Thanks for the pictures. I think I will do the 3 inch lift with the 265/70/17 that's exactly the look I want.
