There are some very nice 16” wheels and 265/75/16 tires are almost identical in size to 265/70/17.

I went with 2020 Pro wheels on my off road and Cooper 265/75/16 tires.

I really like the look of these wheels but wanted 17's, so went with ART Replica 237's... 17×8 +5 offset in satin finish. I can not wait to get them on the truck in the spring. Waiting for tire supplies to replenish... no stock on Toyo AT3's around here.20211005_094147.jpg

And ups the weight per tire a lot. That's why I haven't gone up to 275s or even 285s.

To up the tire size you'll need to do more than just add bigger tires.

Stay with 265/70/17, you could always go with a wider wheel to make the tire look fuller.

What wheel are you running? I just bought a set of 17" (17x7) trd sema's and was wondering if that size tire would rub anywhere on my stock (no lift) 22 sport

    Soooooo,

my next set of tires in a couple of years are gonna be: 265/70R17s without a lift.

I can save up for the Rims in the meantime...all 5 of them.

    Thanks for the photo!!

If the rim has a -10 offset, will it rub?

It might rub against the mud guards if you have them. I have -12 offset and I only rubbed up against the mud guards. Taking them off fixed that issue

No, but it sure changes where the wheel well is in relation to the tire.

You can get a beefier look if you combine the 265/70-17 with some wheels that sit out slightly farther. I personally have the 17" 4Runner TRD Pro wheels which have that wider offset. I run the SL load rating Wildpeaks which are lighter, cheaper and softer riding than the higher load rating tires. You can run those if you aren't towing the heavy loads. You can run this setup at stock height with no rub or it also looks good with a 1-2" lift. With this setup, you won't need to swap out the UCAs or do the cab mount chop. Stock gearing works fine. There's also the aftermarket knockoff version of my wheels which are 8" wide and sit out even further. If you go bigger to 285s you'll need the larger 2-3" lift, UCAs and cab mount chop not to mention the gearing starts to get poor and the tires are even heavier.

After months of waffling over 32's or 33's this is exactly the route I've settled on, except probably Wild Peaks on FN Pro wheels. It seems like the safest way to get a slightly larger wheel and tire under a modest lift. If you dint mind me asking, can you describe the lift you went with? Also, have you noticed any significant mpg loss?

275/70/17. No rub even flexed and stuffed with factory mudflaps.

About 1.5” of lift, but not a spacer lift, so front wheels still stuff fully and don’t rub.

Only downside is heavy tires compared to 265/70/17.

You could go 33" if you go 255/80/17, or 255/85/16 with your OEM 16" rims. No lift, no rubbing.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
There are C load 285 70 17 tires around 51 lbs so pretty much the same or lighter than some 265 70 17 C or E load tires.
    285s look way better
