Tire Size....

I hate to ask again but i didnt get many responses last time,, I have a DC with a Revtek 3" lift and want to go from a 285/70/17 to a 33x12.5/17. Can anyone help me... If you are runing this lift and tires, have you encountered any problems? Is there much rubbing? According to the tire size calculator, the only diff is in the width,,, by about an inch. Thank you.

 

I think that inch will cause some extra rubbing but can't say for sure how much. Some people have rubbing on the control arms which will be greatly affected by the wider tire.

 

i had one of the tires test fitted in the front driver side and it was about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch from the control arm.

 

I run 33's on my revtek... they rub, but you can trim a little to prevent it (mostly). They WON'T rub too much though.

Where did you do the trimming? I plan to do very little off roading since it the Sport Edition ,,, Maybe once or twice on the beach,,, sand not rocks.

The trimming I did was this:

basically move the bottom front part of the mud flap (of the front of the truck) back and attach it near the fog light...It's difficult to explain, but here are some pics to hopefully make it a little better.
