Huh, what? You're saying a 20mm difference in tire width will have no impact just because the wheels have a -12mm offset? Your geometry teacher would like to have a word.

Keep in mind the stock offset is +30mm. With -12mm wheels, the tire centerline has been moved out a good 1.7". 255/85-16 will still then need cab mount chop and pinch weld hammered, i.e. practically the same magnitude of work as fitting 285/75-16. I've seen this with trucks in my off-road club.

Experience trumps theory.... I will be believing you. One thing I didn't consider was stock wheel width vs after market. So duder is wider AND pushed out further. I did not account for that.

At stock height, I recommend a max size of 265/75/16. Just remove the front mud flaps and do some light liner trimming for clearance.

A small rub can either be corrected with added caster or more trimming depending on where it's rubbing.

If it keeps bothering my I will keep trimming. For now its only on a hard crank to the right at low speed

I'm on 255/85r16. 2.5 inch lift, no cmc, but fender flares, liners and bumpers are long gone IMG_20221004_105513_714.jpg

Spacers definitely allow larger tires than most spring lifts because spacers change the fully compressed height which leaves more room in the fenderwell for tire.

Love it! I’ve been running without the fender flares for awhile.
