I think 285/70/16 would fit and give you a great looking stance. Keep in mind your offset will be a factor as well in terms of fitment. Another consideration is power & MPG sacrifice. Some people think re-gearing is necessary when you get to 285 and up

I ran 285/76/16’s on my truck with a 2 inch lift and no rubbing.

I love these threads of lift to biggest tire. Lift let's you clear at ride height the second you start trying to use the suspension your going to rub unless you cut or play with the alignment.
I ran 285/70r17 at around 2" lift with a good alignment and wheeled the truck without hitting the cab mount. You will need minor bumper trimming up front.

I’m running skinnies 235/85/16 and they have taken me every place I’ve wanted to go without question on stock suspension. And I can say it’s nice still having the full suspension travel.

2.5” OME lift, Koenig Six Shooter wheels, 275/70r17 Nokian Outpost AT, CMC, Nitro 4.88s, Greenlane aluminum sliders, CBI aluminum skid, Greenlane aluminum front bumper, Out Gear Solutions HC rear bumper, Baja SAE fogs
255/85r16 is the biggest you can go to now without changing anything else. 285s WILL rub.

Unless you really need an expensive 33” tire though, stick to 265/75r16. Better acceleration and MPG.

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Multiple factors dictate the size. Plenty of threads pertaining to the topic. Use Google ,type your question followed by tacomaworld. You’ll get more hits than using the site search engine.
