Im thinking about putting a 2inch front leveling kit on my 2008 Tacoma 4 door 4x4. I was wondering what was the biggest tire i could run without rubbing

im running a 265/75/16 on mine. a 285 would be a tight fit and near impossible unless u trimmed alot

Anybody running 275/70R16's or 275/65R17's with a 2" front lift? You can get both of these sizes in the BFG A/T's and was strongly considering going with one of these sizes if I could fit them without any trimming and just a front leveling kit (with mud flaps removed). These tires are about 1.5" smaller in diameter and almost half an inch narrower than a 285/75R16 tire.

Do you know of any tires that come in that size? I have been looking quite a bit lately and I personally have not seen that size.

a 285 is too wide itll rub the uca unless u get wheel spacers. 275/70 would look good its just not that common of a size. i think its been done though

I think you could make those work.

Without a 3" lift and/or trimming, most people here will tell you the largest tire you can reasonably fit will be a 265/75R16. However, the 275 width tire is lesser known and relatively uncommon. As I mentioned in my previous post, BFG makes the A/T tire with the 275 width, which might fit, but I'm not sure. This is why I wanted to see if anyone else had first-hand knowledge of this size. I can pretty much say for certain that a 285 tire will not fit with just a leveling kit and no trimming.

285/60/18s fit with stock suspension and stock wheel backspacing.

They are only 31s so you'd probably have a pretty good shot

    I guess I should have stipulated a 285 wide tire on a 16" or 17" wheel.

:notsure: test fit them and see. Worst case scenario you get a lift, which it sounds like you want anyway.

It's all about the sidewall height. The 285/60/18s are only a 32"' thus they are not tall enough to hit the uca.

    A 285/75R16 is basically the equivalent of a 33" x 11.5" tire.
