I’m a new Tacoma owner and not sure what I was doing. Recently I bought bigger tires for my 2021 TRD Sport on stock wheels because I needed ground clearance without have to do a lift. Tires size 275/70/R17. The tires are too big and is too close to the UCAs. Everytime I turned, it rubbed the UCAs. Please any suggestions to help so it doesn’t rub the UCAs. Thank you.

New wheels or spacers and a very good alignment. Assuming you have a sport, the stock wheel offset is +30 so they are sucked in pretty far from the factory.

Thanks! If I go with spacers, will I need to replace it in at a certain miles or years or will it stay on there permanently?

Spacers are a touchy subject on here. I run them and wheel hard on them but I inspect them regularly. They need to be installed on a very clean and flat rotor/drum, require red locktite and re-torque after 50 miles and then every 3,000 miles or so. Get a good brand (Bora or Spidertrax) and make sure they are installed properly and they will last you forever.

If you need the ground clearance, 255/75 would be a narrower alternative for the same diameter. Or you could go down to 265/70R17 which is still taller than stock and same width as stock. I wouldn’t do new wheels or spacers for this problem. New wheels will create the same problem in the opposite direction (rubbing wheel wells/cab mount as opposed to UCA), and spacers will cause the same problem too unless you get a narrow spacer, which then requires longer studs.

I run 275/70r17's on my 2018 OF. My wheels have a -12mm offset and I have the Bilstein 5100 shocks and struts set to 1.5" of lift in the front. No rubbing on the UCA's but I get slight rubbing on the front fender if I turn right and hit a bump at the same time.
If you run 265's you likely wont have any rubbing issues on a stock setup

Thanks! That’s what I thinking. The 265/17R17 will be good so I don’t have to worry about rubbing or trimming. I should’ve came on here and ask u experts before wasting money on tires that doesn’t fit.
